DAVIES CONDEMNS LABOR’S HOSPITAL FAILURES

Tanya Davies MP, Member for Badgerys Creek, has criticised the Minns Labor Government following the release of BHI data, which revealed that one in 10 emergency patients are waiting more than 24 hours for a hospital bed in NSW, while half of all admitted patients are waiting at least nine hours for an emergency bed.

Of particular concern to residents of the Badgerys Creek electorate, only 20.6% of Nepean Hospital patients needing a hospital bed spent fewer than six hours in emergency, with Fairfield Hospital resulting at 20.8%, Liverpool Hospital at 22.8% and Mt Druitt Hospital at 40.2%. These figures fell well short of Labor’s 80% target.

Mrs Davies stated, “The Minns Labor Government is failing to achieve their own targets and have not delivered 1 of the 600 additional hospital beds they promised for our Western Sydney community.”

Astonishingly, the Minns Labor Government and their Federal Labor colleagues organised a photoshoot this month to re-open the ‘new’ Blacktown Mental Health Centre, a facility that they had already opened in April last year.

“Instead of duplicating their ceremonies, Labor should focus on increasing actual outcomes in our struggling health infrastructure,” stated Mrs Davies.

“This is a Labor Government that has lost complete control of their healthcare crisis and our community is suffering,” concluded Mrs Davies.
