Tanya Davies MP, Member for Badgerys Creek, recently hosted her annual Badgerys Creek Senior School Leadership Forum in NSW Parliament House.
The forum was comprised of student leaders from schools across the Badgerys Creek electorate, under the supervision of a staff member from each of the respective schools.
The students enjoyed a tour of NSW Parliament House, as well as discussions with guest speakers Tim James MP, Member for Willoughby, Shadow Minister for Fair Trading, Work Health and Safety and Building; and The Hon. Rachel Merton MLC.
The students also experienced Question Time from the Legislative Assembly gallery, with a warm welcome from the Speaker.
Feedback from teachers confirmed the success of the event. “The students were buzzing all the way back home and were so excited by what they had seen.”
One student commented to Mrs Davies, “I didn’t know why I was selected to come to this event, but I am so glad that I came. It has given me so much to think about now.”
The eventful day concluded with photographs on the front steps of NSW Parliament House.
“I thank the students for their great interest in our Parliamentary process and its history. It was rewarding to see their strong desire to learn and I wish them success in their academic endeavours,” stated Mrs Davies.
