Tanya Davies MP, Member for Badgerys Creek, has lashed out at the NSW Labor Government for excluding almost the entirety of the Badgerys Creek electorate from the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program.
“I’m astonished that any suburb in NSW would miss out on having access to lifesaving equipment. To have almost my entire electorate excluded is nothing short of a disaster and contempt from the NSW Labor Government”, stated Mrs Davies.
The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program is aimed at providing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and associated equipment to NSW sport and recreation facilities and clubs.
Eligibility for the program was only offered to specific postcodes.
“Our large and diverse community is filled with thousands of people across all ages taking part in a variety of sports. To exclude them from access to the same lifesaving equipment that is being made available elsewhere may lead to tragedy.”
“I call on the NSW Government to urgently offer this lifesaving equipment to all communities, both in my electorate of Badgerys Creek and beyond,” concluded Mrs Davies.
